Spaghetti by Chefshana

Hump Day Dinner @chefshana @maziesbites

What is for dinner at your house on Hump Day Wednesday? Tonight I made Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce. When Rj came home to peek in the pot he said “yes!” I guess that means he likes when I make Spaghetti.

Share you dinner tonight. Comment below.

Simple to Make:

Boil the spaghetti in pot of water with a pinch of salt.

In another stock pot sauté ground chuck until brown – don’t forget to add a few pinches of salt & black pepper

Drain any excessive oil

Add your favorite store brought sauce in the jar or you can check out my homemade sauce http://www.mazies.com

Simmer for 20 min

Mix and serve!

Rj loves when I make a side of garlic bread!

Good Night

Mazie’s Food Flavor

Why is Mazie’s Food filled with so much flavor?

Let’s start by understanding what is flavor?

Flavor = Taste + Mouthfeel + Aroma + “the x factor we call Soul”

Taste = what is perceived by your taste buds
Mouthfeel = What is perceived by the rest of mouth
Aroma = What is perceived by the nose
“The X Factor Soul” = What is perceived by the other senses – plus the heart, the mind and the spirit

Remember our taste buds can only perceive five basic tastes:

1. Sweet
2. Salty
3. Sour
4. Bitter
5. Umami (Savoriness)

The essence of Mazie’s food is bringing these five tastes into balanced harmony to create our deliciousness. It’s that simple and that difficult! After all if everyone had our flavor then it wouldn’t be Mazie’s :)

Happy Tuesday folks..

A productive day!

Just days away from my official baby girl Taylor due date 3/23. I spent the day working at the market interviewing and meeting with contractors to do a few upgrades to the space, all the while hoping all the movement and activity would invoke LABOR!

Well to no avail we are still waiting for Baby Taylor to arrive! Exhausted from a active day.. dinner for the family left over Pizza take out..I completed some updates to the website.. sharing some awesome comments and links about Mazie’s Bites and included them in our Press page. 2011 was a great year! We will take all the great, good, and bad feedback and make it a better year 2012!

New menu items, updated favorites.. looking forward to the opening April 7th!

Ideas for breakfast: Breakfast sandwiches

Good morning Foodies,

Food & Wine predicts in 2011 that restaurants will be trending to new breakfast sandwiches. I say it’s about time! Weren’t we all tired of the grease filled process breakfast sandwiches from Fast food joints.

So I say, change those lunch dates and meetings to morning dates and enjoy a breakfast sandwich. Maybe
