Chef Shana her team presents Mazie’s Bites @ DeKalb Market in Brooklyn, NY! Mazie’s Bites features an international soul menu, food for the soul. Our food is comforting and full of flavors inspired by dishes found in Southern, Caribbean, Creole, and Latin cuisine.

We specialize in our delicious crispy fried Fish Tacos.. our take on Baja Fish Tacos. To make our fish tacos extra crispy we bread it in tortilla chips with a hint of lime and our special seasoning. In addition to our fish tacos we have become known as the Best Damn Mac & Cheese Bar in where carry our Regular Mac & Cheese made with cheddar cheese, Bacon Mac & Cheese made with cheddar, smoked gouda, sour cream and chunks of crispy bacon; lastly our  superstar of the bar is our Lobster Mac & Cheese made with huge chunks of fresh lobster, cheddar, smoked gouda, gruyere and topped with bread crumbs.

The Owner & Chef of Mazie’s Bites is Chef Shana. She is a second career chef formerly an information technology executive who worked for IBM, Kellogg’s and HP. Searching to renew her spirit Chef Shana took a dare from a friend to turn a passionate hobby of catering into a career move;she enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, IL to train to become a Chef. Upon graduating Chef Shana took a 6 week leave from corporate America and moonlighted in Belize trading her Chef skills in exchange for room & board. That experience confirmed her passion and skills to make the switch and she returned to the states moved to Brooklyn, NY launched her catering business full time. After an Urban Space representative tasted her food she was asked to come to Dekalb Market and open and food container hence the birth of Mazie’s Bites. Mazie’s Bites plans to become a brick and mortar in the next year. It will be a full service kitchen & bar called Mazie’s.
